NETWORK INFRUSTRUCTURE

Your computer systems and applications require one of the most fundamental

infrastructures in your organization — your network.  Your network consists of such devices as routers, switches, firewalls and vpn appliances.   New England Communications assists businesses in selecting and implementing these devices.  By partnering with industry leading manufacturers such as Juniper, Extreme and Adtran we can help you design a new network or expand an existing one.

LAN switches are an integral component of the modern network. Switches analyze incoming network traffic, determine the traffic's destination based on the packet's incoming frame, and forward the frame toward its destination.

A firewall is a program or hardware device that would control the flow of information coming through the Internet connection into the private network. The firewall is usually placed in between the Internet and the private network. When a packet of information has reached the firewall, the filter will examine the content of the packet and the packet is allowed to go through if it does not violate the rules that are set in the firewall implementation. The firewall administrator may define the rules. A firewall is a very effective tool to protect the private network; it can prevent intruders from getting important information from the computer system.

Businesses are increasingly reliant on their wide area networks (WANs). The quality,

security, and reliability of communications between headquarters locations, branch offices, customers and suppliers, as well as the wider Internet are increasingly tied to overall business performance. With the growth of advanced services such as voice and video over IP, mobile data connectivity, remote application access, and unification of the wired and wireless networks, the head-end router is being asked to perform a wider variety of functions than ever before.

More and more organizations are discovering that their IPSec VPN solution is not meeting their remote access needs. As a result, organizations are investing in SSL VPN technology - a more flexible solution that features granular clientless access control and greater security for mobile devices. The result?  A more secure and productive workforce.
