As COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) continues to spread, we would like to let all our valued customers and partners know what New England Communications is doing to respond to this health emergency.
Our priorities are the safety and well-being of our employees and their families, customers and the communities in which we live and work. We continue to assess the situation daily, and we have implemented industry best practices, such as travel and visitor restrictions, work from home policies where possible, social distancing, etc. These are outlined in our preparation measures below. We are also remaining vigilant and adhering to all recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. and Maine Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our local authorities.
Rest assured, we remain fully operational, leveraging several preparation measures which include:
• Operational Structures that maintain responsiveness should team members need to stay at home for extended periods of time.
• IT systems that continue to provide reliable access to email, direct phones, cell phones, and industry software for employees at work or working from home.
• Collaborative technology, laptop technology, and videoconferencing allows us to service customers from afar as well as those who prefer telecast meetings.
• Preventing the spreading of COVID-19 by limiting in-person meetings, increasing cleanings in all facilities as well as frequent wipe downs of commonly used areas, enabling remote work for employees at risk, in quarantine, and because of childcare issues/school closings, encouraging respiratory best practices, and more.
As the crisis continues to unfold, we are prepared to continue to serve our customers 7x24. Our engineers are equipped with remote access capabilities and our customer service team will be available to take your requests. For those of you customers, where we do not have remote access capability, please call and we will work to get you set up. We are currently still dispatching engineers to customer sites where necessary and allowed. These associates travel to the site with the instruction to adhere to any site
specific requirements, to socially distance, to assess their surroundings and are equipped with disinfectant wipes to clean any surface that they touch or come in contact with.
Like you, we continue to monitor this quickly-evolving situation. This is a challenging time, and we will work diligently to remain available and accessible. As circumstances change, we will keep you informed. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your Account Manager or any member of our Management Team for your questions or concerns.
We hope you and your families are safe and staying healthy.
